The great river mp 2nv is patterned after the classic neve preamplifiers with it s own advances. Don t get caught up in what s the best vocal preamp or the best one for this or that. Transparency and vintage harmonic structure are both achieved with nv series preamps. The great river me 1nv also has a full 70db of input gain so you can take that prized ribbon mic out of the cabinet for a rich creamy sound.

I really want one of these guys. When you hit this top level quality stops being an issue. When it comes to sound the often unwieldy low mids that a classic 1073 or 1073 clone will tend to have is much tighter and punchier with the great river preamp. Overall the great river is much more even sonically with less of the overall thickness and weight.

Much less boxy in the low mids. If i had to pick a one size fits all preamp that has personality but works for just about everything it would be the great river me 1nv when tracking vocals on dozens of singers with mics ranging from a shure sm7b to an aea r84 on condensers such as a neumann u 87 ai or telefunken 251 this preamp will not disappoint.
