By default there is no separator line between columns neither with the twocolumn option nor with the multicol package. I have looked up all the posts about the edas and gutter problems but i could not figure out the problem. I have tried onecolumn and twocolumn but they create a page break. If you need more flexibility in the column layout or to create a document with multiple columns the package multicol provides a set of commands for that.

Is there a way to satisfy edas submission check in this scenario. Latex forum page layout edas treating subfigures within a figure as columns. The top margin is 0 665 in on page 4 which is below the required margin of 0 7 in. In practise this is because the width of the separator line is set to zero by default 0pt.

The gutter between columns is 0 155 inches wide on page 4 but should be at least 0 2 inches. Therefore to add a separator line it suffices to change the width of the column separator rule using the setlength macro. This coupled with symmetric hori zontal margins means that there will not be a noticeable difference between the one and two sided options. Two column documents can be easily created by passing the parameter twocolumn to the document class statement.
